The Wedding Registry Box, itself, was an Apollo brand chocolates box – likely from the wedding itself. Unfortunately, due to a number of factors – age, the fact that the box contained high sugar food at one point, the storage conditions of the box over time, and the material itself, this box was heavily molded when it was removed from the Leon David Miller Camera Box – where the majority of the LDM & CBC Collection materials were found. Due to this mold, the box was discarded in Summer 2019 after being photographed for documentation. Simply put, it was not possible to handle or store this box without an overwhelming scent and “off gassing” of mold or mold bi-products. A mask was used while it was handled.
Memory from TM: “I remember playing in the upstairs (3rd floor) large bedroom closet and asking my grandmother (Martha Isabel Dovel) what this box, and a number of other boxes were – and she remarked that they were her mother in laws. I was approximately 6 or 7 years old at the time.”
